CeltiCare Preferred Select is a form of a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan.  Preferred Provider Organizations are different than Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans because HMO’s require their members to see primary care physicians, specialists and hospitals within their network.  PPO plans offer the freedom to their members to visit health care providers that are out-of-network.  In consequence, PPO plans tend to be more expensive because the degree of freedom is higher.  In addition, members are free to choose a primary care physician, specialist or other provider out of Celtic’s network; however the patient will pay more in the copay for the visit and/or care. 

CeltiCare Preferred Select is offered for children, adults and families.  There is a choice of 80/20% or 100/0% coinsurance options where the member is responsible for the bottom number.  Deductibles range from $500 to $5,000.  Additional options can be added on such as supplemental accident options and prescription drug coverage.  There is a $20 copayment for generic drugs.
