The Celtic Basic Plans, CeltiCare Preferred Select Plans and Saver HSA plans are the main health insurance options in Texas.

The Celtic Basic Plan is the most affordable Celtic option for Texas residents.  The Basic Plan offers High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) options and Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) options.  High Deductible Health Plans are for those who are healthy and are usually young adults, since HDHP is a form of a “catastrophic plan.”  High Deductible plans are partnered with lower premiums which make them attractive to young adults who may have a hard time affording health insurance.

CeltiCare Preferred Select Plans are a form of Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans.  Preferred Provider Organization plans differ from Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans in that they allow members to see out-of-network health care providers, such as primary care physicians, specialists and hospitals. 

Saver HSA plans offer a Health Savings Account.  Health Savings Accounts are for those who want to manage their health care dollars and who want to take responsibility for their health.  They can choose to spend their health care money in short term uses such as copayments or in long term medical procedures.  Those who have Health Savings Account tend to choose to live a healthier lifestyle.  Health Savings Accounts are flexible and stay with the individual if s/he moves to another state or switches careers.
